Mediation/Collaborative Divorce
Collaborative Divorce was developed in Floridain the 1990's, to help families settle their domestic issues without litigation. It is not appropriate in all situations, but can be effective if both parties are agreeable. The Collaborative process uses an interest-based negotiation to settle divorce issues. In a collaborative process both parties agree to resolve issues without resorting to extensive litigation. Collaborative attorneys provide clients an opportunity to settle differences and resolve conflict.(FL Bar CLE, 2006)
